The Island is off the coast of Massachusetts. It has a name, but as a matter of respect to the owners who are trying to keep it as it was despite its inherent fragility, I'm not mentioning it. Like parts of the Desert Southwest, it remains an outpost of primitive living, with no power, telephone service, or public roads or infrastructure. People who spend time there never forget it. This gallery will grow as time permits to work through the large and meidum-format film photographs, and the many digital photographs, made during a recent week-long stay.
